Light of Hope Ltd. welcomes New Advisory Board Members

Light of Hope welcomes two new members in its Advisory Board. Mahmuda Akhter and GM Rakibul Islam are joining the Board from November 1, 2022. They will work with the Executive Board and the Chairman Waliullah Bhuiyan. Both will be supporting to the company’s core mission to prepare children for the future with 21st century skills.

Mahmuda Akhter, Advisory Board Member, Light of Hope Ltd.

Ms. Mahmuda Akhter is one of the founding members and also the Executive Director of the Institute of Child and Human Development (ICHD). She is a member of Executive Board of Bangladesh ECD Network (BEN), an Executive Council member of South Asia Forum of Early Childhood Development Professionals (SAFECDP) and Country Liaison of Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI).

She is a member of National ECCD Technical Committee under Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. She was the founding Head of ECD Resource Centre at BRAC Institute of Educational Development, BRAC University from 2005 to 2011.

As Advisory Board Member in Light of Hope, she will facilitate and initiate various researches, support developing courses for parents and teachers on ECD.

‘Mahmuda apa is one of the pioneering figures of ECD in Bangladesh. We have been working closely for the last few years at different capacities. Having her on the Advisory Board will open up a lot of opportunities for us to bring our learning products and services nationally and internationally.’ according to Waliullah Bhuiyan.

GM Rakibul Islam, Advisory Board Member, Light of Hope Ltd.

GM Rakibul Islam is the Chairman and Assistant Professor at Department of Educational Administration at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) of Bangladesh.

He is an Acumen Fellow of Bangladesh, Co-founder of Bangladesh Education Forum and Core Team Member of #NextGenEdu (a global platform for education).

Over the years, he managed a number of education projects and developing teachers’ capacity at government Teachers’ Training College, a2i Program of The Prime Minister’s Office, TQI Project, Ministry of Education and British Council Bangladesh.

He led several studies of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education of Bangladesh, UNICEF, Sesame Network of USA, Save the Children International, a2i, Room to Read, TIB, Project Rangeet of India, Sesame Workshop Bangladesh.

He did MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Manchester, UK with Equity and Merit Scholarship. He graduated from the Institute of Education and Research of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in Education.

As Advisory Board Member at Light of Hope, he will support in various researches related to internal education projects and support product team for development of new learning products and contents to develop 21st century skills to children.
