WaterAid Bangladesh and Light of Hope Ltd. have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the development of educational materials aimed at increasing awareness of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices among children and adolescents. This partnership seeks to empower the younger generation with essential knowledge and skills, fostering long-term improvements in public health and contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6.
The MOU was signed by Hasin Jahan, Country Director of WaterAid Bangladesh, and Waliullah Bhuiyan, CEO of Light of Hope Ltd., at WaterAid’s office on August 13, 2024.
Both organizations will work together to create engaging and culturally relevant educational resources, such as children’s books and learning toys. Additionally, they will pursue further funding opportunities to support these initiatives.
The collaboration will include joint efforts to organize events and programs that widely disseminate WASH knowledge among children aged 5-12 years.
This partnership marks a significant step toward building a healthier future for Bangladesh by fostering WASH awareness from an early age.
